Keep your shop cool this summer with these five tips

Here in Illinois we just saw the first mid-70s day and it’s only March. Summer is coming, but there is still time to get your shop ready. Here are five suggestions to help keep your cool though the long, hot months to come.

1. Maintain, maintain, maintain

Get a PM visit for your mission critical equipment before the temperatures start to rise so you can stay cool when it’s time to kick out that big order your business (and maybe your job) depends on.

2. Don’t blow a gasket

High pressure, old hydraulics, and hot shops mean messy, downtime disasters. If you haven’t inspected your equipment in a while or worse, have been delaying repairs, now is the time.

3. Think electric

Electric machines run cool, clean, fast, and save energy. They are a perfect choice for fabricators in hot climates. If you haven’t already traded up, our CoastOne C9S press brake is a great, very affordable place to start.

4. Keep your operators cool

Hot shops, long days, and production deadlines make more than air temperatures rise. Give those you depend on a break from the heat with efficient, cool running, ergonomic equipment.

Our ACF cornerformer; cold forms perfect corners like these in seconds with no grinding, welding, or finishing.

Welding can be hot work. A MySpot welder makes it easier with perfectly balanced, practically weightless welding arms and high-speed technology that makes cool welds so fast and clean you won’t even see it happening.
